Terms

Terms of service

The agreement between you and Aether Analytics LLC, which runs GradeHomeworkOnline, when you use the service.

Draft, 30 October 2026 (version 2026-10-30). The service is in pre-release, and this text may still change before the service is offered publicly. Until then, please grade sample work rather than real student records.

1. Using the service

By creating an account or using GradeHomeworkOnline you agree to these terms. If you use it for a school or other organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.

These terms are between you and Aether Analytics LLC (“we”), which runs GradeHomeworkOnline.

The service is for instructors, teaching teams, and the institutions they work for. It is not for students, and you must be an adult to hold an account.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done under it and for anyone you invite to grade with you.

3. What you upload

  • You keep all rights in the assignments, rubrics, and submissions you upload. You give us permission to store and process them to provide the service to you.
  • If you turn on “Help build better grading”, or, for a school or team, its owner does, you also give us permission to keep de-identified copies of approved grades, with their assignments, rubrics, and submissions, and to use them without limit of time to improve grading and build our own grading models, as described on the privacy page. Copies already shared stay with us if sharing is turned off or your data is deleted. Whoever turns it on confirms they may give this permission.
  • You confirm that you have the right to upload student work and to have it processed as described on the privacy page, under your institution's rules and the law that applies to you.
  • Work by students under 13 may be uploaded only by or for a school. By uploading it, the school gives consent on the parents' behalf for this school use. An instructor working outside a school may not upload it.
  • Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, our data processing agreement is part of these terms.
  • Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share.

4. Grades are proposals

The service proposes scores and feedback using AI, which can be wrong. A proposed grade is not a final grade. You are responsible for reviewing every grade and for any grade you approve, record, or give to a student.

The service does not detect cheating, plagiarism, or AI writing, and must not be used as evidence about a student's honesty or conduct.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not try to get into data that is not yours, or get around security or limits.
  • Do not disrupt the service, probe it for weaknesses without our agreement, or overload it.
  • Do not resell the service or copy it to build a competing one.
  • Do not give students access to it.

6. Pre-release service

The service is in pre-release. Features can change, it can be unavailable, and data may be removed during this period. Use sample work rather than real student records, and keep your own copies of anything you need.

7. Fees

There is no charge during pre-release. Prices will be published before any charge is made, and you will not be charged without agreeing to them.

8. Ending use

You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete grading jobs, your account, or a school or team you own yourself, as described on the privacy page. Deleting an account, a school or a team takes effect 7 days after you ask, and can be cancelled until then. Deleting a grading job takes effect at once and cannot be undone. Download anything you want to keep first. De-identified copies chosen to be shared are kept, as section 3 says.

Deleting your account, a school or a team cancels its subscription from that moment. Unused credit, and any time left in the current billing period, are not refunded, except where the law requires.

If you stop paying, your data stays until someone deletes it or its retention setting removes it.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk.

9. No warranty and limits on liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We do not promise that proposed grades are correct or that the service will always be available.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of proposed grades.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, and disputes are decided by the state or federal courts in Maryland. This does not take away rights that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement.

10. Changes and contact

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before the change takes effect. Questions about them go to support@gradehomeworkonline.com.
